How Do I Make A Report?
There is a variety of methods which you can use to ensure your reports get to the National Weather Service, which depend on your available methods of communication, and whether or not you are an amateur radio operator. We do ask that you only call the NWS directly as a last resort when other methods fail. Doing so will help the phone lines stay free so that other regions can call in their reports. During severe weather outbreaks, the lines can be extremely busy.
Preferred Method - Via Repeater (Ham Radio Ops)
Primary Frequency: 147.180, PL of 110.9 (WB3FPL)
Secondary Frequency: 145.490, PL of 114.8 (K3TI)
Alternate Frequency: 145.150, PL of 114.8 (K3TI)
During severe weather warnings in the county in the summer, the county coordinators will monitor this frequency for the duration of the warning, or as requested in the Hazardous Weather Outlook distributed by the National Weather Service. In the winter during significant events, the repeaters will be monitored at preannounced intervals.
Preferred Method - Via Phone to County Coordinators (Non-Hams)
For privacy purposes, the phone numbers will not be published. Please request the necessary numbers by e-mailing Ed W3DUB.
