Our Group
Our group consists of many spotters from across the county. We provide a very important service to the National Weather Service as Berks is the most western county in their "County Warning Area." In other words, very often storms in the summer pass through our area first, and we are a first line of defense of sorts in providing the NWS with important information that both helps them in issuing accurate warnings for our county as well as those to our east and south.
Our mission to provide the most timely and accurate "ground truth" reports so that our information can be used in a manner that maximizes public safety of our county's 400,000 plus residents, while at the same time helping to minimize property damage.
